New Peugeot 3008 - an impressive car

TomTom service came on this morning.  Very, very pleased with the whole experience with this car.  The kids next door think I'm Batman or something after spotting the 'puddle lights' with the Peugeot logo beaming onto the drive.

Next challenge: anyone tried updating the maps or the system firmware?

Just completed the map update (now running version "Europe 6.0.0".  Downloaded the files from the Peugeot website, extracted on to a USB stick, which I then plugged into the car's USB port.

Took about an hour (on a 60MB connection!) to download the files from the Peugeot servers.  Upload from the stick to the car took around 35 minutes.

Now I'm trying the firmware upgrade.  Will report back success (or otherwise ).

Funnily enough I was surprised at how long it took to do the bmw ones.

Then took another 45 mins to install but it’s a good excuse to have a drive

Map and firmware successfully updated!  Surprisingly easy (albeit a little slow) to complete both.

Instructions follow:

[note, I use Google Chrome which automatically translates from French to English]

Log in to the "MYPeugeot France" site on your PC.You should see a screen with a ParisDakkar spec 3008 on the right and menu options on the left.Click on My Vehicle.Under "My Contracts and Services" click on "Peugeot Connect Nav Update"The screen will confirm which updates are available; click on the download links;Files are downloaded as zip files; extract them such that for each of the software and map updates you have One "SWL folder" and one "updateinfo.xml" file.  Taking each of the software and maps in turn, copy the SWL Folder and updateinfo.xml file onto a USB Stick (FAT32 format);Turn on engine, turn off the auto stop start/i-stop function (engine has to be running throughout);Insert USB stick into car, you will get an "Error Multimedia" message, click the left arrow at the top of the screen;Wait a few seconds and the 'upgrade screen' will appear, click yes and wait for the update to complete;Apparently you aren't supposed to drive the car whilst updating.  I did the map first, followed by the firmware, not sure if there is a preferred order.  I used a 32GB USB3 stick, apparently some have had issues with larger capacity sticks?

I've downloaded the system and map updates. I've not yet had the time to get Peugeot dealer to activate live. Can I still update the system and maps first without getting live activated first ?

Yes, this wont affect, or be affected by, the TomTom live services.

I did.  Very slow download (each one took over 45 minutes).  Apparently the UK site is being updated "some time in 2018"?

The UK site does seem a bit "lacking"
