Seems strange that some think the plinth sounds great whilst others don't. I wonder if there's a quality control issue?

Hi all, looking for a bit of advice before listing on Classifieds section.

I've got a 46HX853 which I want to sell, but there's not any references I can use from the Classifieds section to establish a fair price (as per section 28 of the trading rules). Google Shopping is only returning results for places which don't actually have it in stock, and eBay/Amazon marketplace references are forbidden. I don't want to price it too high and not sell it, and I don't want to price it too low (for obvious reasons). Figure the best place to ask for advice is the owner's thread.

Its got just over two years transferable extended warranty left to run (expires 21-06-2015), I've got three pairs of the TDGBR250 glasses to include, but no original packaging.

What would people suggest?

(apologies if I shouldn't be asking here)

£750-£800 I'd say.

Picked up a 853 a couple of months ago and very happy - beautiful picture and the soundbar stand definitely gives better sound that my previous LCD telly did. However I'm considering whether it would be worth adding an extra soundbar (the sonos, lg or yamaha) to give even better sound. Has anyone done this? Any advice? I'm low knowledge on this kind of stuff....data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Not a sound bar I know but I bought a Boston Acoustics 2.1 system for my set at the weekend from Richer Sounds and it is miles better than the included stand.
Watched a couple of movies on it and it has impressed us so far. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Can anybody please tell me what are your settings for Motionflow and CineMotion as well. What is the perfect setting   off? standard? clear? clear plus?

Thanks

thanks - did you disable the speaker stand that comes with the tv or are you using them together?

Good evening all. After some long deliberation (we're talking at least 6 months here), I have placed an order for a 55" HX853 from John Lewis for £1499. This will be replacing a trusty old friend in my 40KDLX3500 I bought in 2007.

It took some soul searching, and a lot of reading for me to decide not to go for any of the Sony 2013 range, the W8 seemingly being inferior in featureset and W9 looking like not giving the bang for the extra buck. I guess I am lucky that out of all the retailers, JL had the 853 in stock and got the 5 yr guarantee to go with it.

I havent gone through the past six parts of the 853 owners thread, but would appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of any recommended configuration settings.

Thanks very much

Dan

I use Clear and Auto 1, Clear adds very little soap opera effect but brings motion resolution up to 1080 lines from the lcd standard 300 lines, auto 1 is I believe for interlaced content.

I have motion flow off for Blu ray though as it adds enough soap opera effect to change the appearance of film based content.

We just mute the TV at the moment.
