You can always just shut the 3DS, the game will go to sleep, come back to it later.

I might get shot down for saying this, but,

See, to me, thats the kind of view thats brought a glut of utter crap to various systems, and made gaming the sad downward spiraling affair it is these days.

They(people in general, not you as an individual) want them easy, cause people either don't have the time, or the inclination to beat a challenge.
They want hand holding, they want to save anytime, anywhere, they want tutorial levels, cause a manual is too complicated.

Then, then they mump and moan, oh it was too easy, it was too short, wasn't worth my money, etc, etc, repeat until bored.

If thats the case, then facebook/websites have a ton of games, and so do mobiles and tablets, cause thats the type of gamer they target, the casual gamer in a hurry/on a bus, toilet, elephant, with the 69p/99p casual paper toss/angry birds/tower defense/temple run type crap.

I understand your frustrations Foxi share some of your.sentiments but i personally wouldn't refer to 'those' type of games as crap,.it's just a different market who go for a different type of game. For some people on the move mobile gaming is a God send, for others on the move it's music or reading or web surfing. Console gaming shouldn't be easy imo or certain genres or games aimed at certain markets shouldn't be dumbed down but you'll always have an element of that because gaming has opened up to the whole world.

For me a console game is about losing myself in not only the world created but also the challenge i think that's why i loved zombiu as for all is shortcomings it was a brutally hard game which didn't hand hold.

I agree, the casual market may have given birth to a load of shovelware and easy games or games with shorter levels, more save spots but i kind of appreciate that in a weird way. I just don't have the time now to spend hours locked away playing games, not knowing what time of day it is (or even what day in some cases!). I've got more responsibilities now as I'm sure most people who frequent these forums do and whilst i still love gaming i just can't give it the undivided attention i used to so i do appreciate games which guide you in via a tutorial as I'd rather that than spend precious gaming time reading a manual and games that allow me to save where i want as you never know when the baby might need tending to data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.

One thing that often gets dismissed with Nintendo games are their difficulty. They get the tag of kiddie games very often but some of these games can be devilishly hard, particularly the platform games. I've been reduced to tears trying to complete some levels on donkey kong country returns and some of the star levels on nsmbu are ridiculous.

If I had the choice I'd go for difficult all the time. It needs to be done right though. I understand others concerns about lack of time and just want to breeze through a game. That's fair enough and maybe this game could of had an easy option which basically included checkpoints.

It hasn't though so its a case of improve or give up. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I might have my XL sooner then I thought. Tempted to just go with Argos at £149 with a £10 voucher back.

That's exactly what I did today. Picked up luigis mansion 2 and I also used up a tenners worth of nectar points. Good days shopping data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

As with regards to difficulty, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 had some really tricky areas. As did NSMBU and the Zelda games and the Smash bros games. All these games are awesome as well.

I can't remember the name of the level but on galaxy 1 there was a level where you had to collect purple coins and it was just a big square type level with platforms that disappeared once you touched them. So you had to proper plan your route. It gave me plenty of problems that one.

Send me your friend code mate and I'll add you on the 3DS.

I remember that stage! I'm sure it was Galaxy 2 though. Really tricky!

My code is 4914-3360-4406

Wont it be the same code if you are doing a system transfer?

addyb Publish time 27-11-2019 03:07:01

Is it? I've no idea. I assumed it was just game data I transferred. Is it the code as well? I thought the codes were tied to the console
