Go to the little friend icon on your home screen. Should be a little pic of a face. You add/receive friends in there.
Where do you fin your friend code?
Touch the orange face icon at the top of your home screen then touch your gamer card, your code will be on the top screen under your name.

Nice one. Will add people later. Has anyone got a carry case/wallet/pouch for their XL? I'm struggling to find what looks like a decent one
Reserved an XL at Argos then won a new one on the bay...and the guy is about half a mile away so collecting tonight. Will do a system transfer tonight and let you know if the friend code works.
Was going to stick with my 3DS but a Luigi session last night left me with cramps and for this price, well cant really pass it up.
Edit: struggling to get used to the circle pad on the XL...
The last one I had was excellent. It was an official folio case with room for 12 games. Will see if I can find a link.
