I have suggested a Cookery/Food related forum years ago and it was rejected. I have seen many cookery/Food related threads in GC over the years. The Barbecue one in here now though does not appeal to my Tastes lol. It is as bad as Politics which has it's own forum //static.avforums.com/styles/avf/smilies/facepalm.gif
I think it stands a chance of working, people are passionate about food.
For it to work I think it needs a good mix of... (and this is why I think it could be viable)...
* People that ask questions that they want answers to.
* People that answer questions that folk ask.
* Folk that contribute stuff they want to share.
* People that post daft stuff... (I've a good 'serving suggestion' for pineapple rings and whipped cream - hmm, maybe not data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7).
...yeah probably just might work, I think it's worth a try?
Presumably if it's a failure it can be closed down and the content could still be integrated back into GC?

I still think one of the curry recipes a member kindly posted was up there with the best I've made and tasted....it was a while ago and I've forgotten who it was but seem to remember he is a Driving Instructor, randomly.
I think it would be an ideal addition that suits a forum related to AV.

A sub-forum could be started with a wider capture than just food and recipes. It could include cooking utensils, various types of cookers etc. In fact anything to do with cooking and dining including dining table set-ups.
The sub-forum could be called 'Cooking, Dining and Kitchen Equipment' or something along those lines.
It's probably a given it would also include the long running BBQ thread, despite BName's protests against it.
