Are you growing them indoors at the moment? On a window ledge above a radiator?

You can germinate them (seeds) until they start to sprout if you want to - 3 or 4 days in a bag in the airing cupboard really should do it for most, although habaneros seem to take forever - and seemingly very hard to grow data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Don't get your compost wet, you just need to stop it from getting dry. It can take a while for them to poke their heads out though.

I'm no real expert though, you can probably find some better info online.

Growing on the window sill at the moment as the plant that has broke through will need light, think I just need to be patient, I have grown jalapenos and sweet bell peppers before, all of which took ages......

Excited I have one though.......

For germination you should bag the seeds up and put them in the airing cupboard before potting them up. Even on top of the fridge works - just need some heat, light doesn't matter.

Usually it takes a good few months to get anything from your plant - 9/10 months or so. But as you've got a sprout you're on your way! It's still only early March so you're doing fine data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Franks hot sauce is my favorite, the Nandos ones are pretty good and I always have a bottle of tobasco in the house as a backup.

I like the nandos spice rub as a marinade or sprinkled on potato wedges

Germinate is such a funny word data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Anyways, nice to see the Nando mentions have been done enough. I prefer the Garlic and Herb one at the moment, it's actually hotter than the hot sauce :s

A bloke in work brought in a bottle of this,

Mad Dog 357 Collectors Edition | mad dog hot sauces | collectors hot sauce - £9.95

I can eat a Phal fairly comfortably but this stuff is just insane.

I tried a bit with the supplied spoon and I just melted.

Got the 357 with the bullet keyring for my Dad, it's pretty hefty, I have some Satan's blood too, can't quite manage it as a proper sauce, goes well added in to things though to spice it up data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

They do the Mad Dog challenge across America where you dip a toothpick in and get some and put that in your mouth, then you have to keep your mouth closed for 1 minute or something.... fairly easy to do - done similar at home.

Cholula! I bought some from Home Bargains and got on rather well with it, thought it was a super cheap alternative. Not hot, but certainly a nice addition to chips and alike, its an upgrade from Tabasco for me. Same with Frank's methinks. But for £1 or so, I'm not sure Cholula could be beaten.

Dr Hotz Who Dares Burns was too much for me.

I am struggling with my sauces at the moment. Nando's dont really cut the mustard for me, nowhere near enough kick, need something hot but still tasty. Peri Peri should be the way to go, but if anyone has any other suggestions, especially easily available alternatives would be appreciated.

I have a bottle of mad dog 357 at the back of the cupboard which I use sparingly . I used to love hot sauces when I was younger, but now it's like playing Russian roulette on the toilet the next morning. Sometimes I'm fine and sometimes it feels like I'm firing out brown naplamdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
