There must be somewhere better equipped nearby? I'll bet it'd have a lower membership cost too, so win/win! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 This is he best video on Smiths ever! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Not work safe though.

sadly I live out in the sticks - and this is the only one close to me, and luckily it's only 1/2 mile away... and as it;s run by the local 6th form cost only 25 quid a month data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I did go to a free class (they do others too) - which was a bootcamp and very, very hard, but sadly that's been stopped...shame - as it had upto 25 people go... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

talking of squats, i saw a small guy doing them last night with terrible form - like i was scared he was going to seriously injure himself. but as he had a "spotter" i didn't want to go wading over there and telling them what he is doing wrong (not my place tbh) but i hope he doesn't continue like he was.

yes, is a pain when you see people sacrifice form over using heavier weights to appear macho - but they fail big time..
there's a guy who comes in from time to time - and all he ever does are biceps and triceps... everything else is scrawny too...shame data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

this guy wasn't even squatting heavy - i think he was only attempting 40kg, but he was leaning so far forward, he almost didn't need to use his legs to bring himself back up, just stretch his back up straight and he was there.
if he had attempted something stupidly heavy (for him) then i might have popped over, but as he was only doing 40kg and had a spotter i left them to it.

I'm of the school that sometimes the weight has to get from a to b and have certainly been guilty of shocking tekkers on occasion I definitely don't let bad habits develop. You see people in every gym doing every exercise imaginable terribly, none of us can hand on heart say we're perfect everytime whilst still making progress.

There's safe form and bad form. Form doesn't need to be perfect as long as it's safe.

yeah, as I heard recently (probably linked from this very forum!) that someone quoted from an old jazz musician - he said to learn the instrument and the music inside out - then fudge that sh*t and just play... data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
sometimes when doing a pb on a deadlift for example - form may go out of the window, but if you've got a solid base and know what you're doing then you can be excused...

i don't claim to have perfect form at all, far from it some times, but i try and get the basics right, but this guy just looked close to almost killing himself doing squats data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
on a side note, my traps are absolutely on fire tonight.
