Apparently Lord Nelson was a white supremacist. Some of these people are truly beyond parody.
I often see Afua Hirsch on the Pledge. I know that before she even opens her mouth she will say something most disagreeable.
Sorry to say, her biggest problem is being British but not actually feeling like she is British.
She does seem to be a bit obsessed about race for some reason.
Written history is normally a good judge of what is fascist etc. At times its obvious who is on the moral good side of conflict, other times like Mandela it can take decades, he was reported as being fascist or communist or whatever the trendy put down of the era, but it certainly got him on our terrorist lists right into this millennium.

Maybe acknowledge his naval genius alongside his well documented unethical support of slavery, and no I believe we don’t need to apologise. I’m a bit uneasy with monument smashing these days, what with fallen pound and our imperial history, weirdly it’s the tourism that’s keeping the UK afloat.

The problem with history is that the individual can always make it fit to a specific agenda.
