But that wouldn't feed these alt-righters need to hate and divide. Thus we have name-calling, hatred and marginalisation against anyone who doesn't think like them. I think there's a name for that...

Antifa?

Bl4ckGryph0n Publish time 26-11-2019 02:54:38

As I said before, the extreme ends meet and are just the same.

It has taken a few pages but people will get there. It is also good to see mainstream media are starting to pick up what antifa and the many little splinter groups are really like.

We can do without either of these extremist groups.

SteakAndCake Publish time 26-11-2019 02:54:39

Anti-Facism.

Originally hard left socialist anarchists but more recently have attracted liberals looking to fight the hard right and nazis. The liberals who aren't really liberal and just want to feel justified for punching nazis and using violence.Just as damaging as the hard right, they just choose a different political aim to take to extremes.

That's my opinion, Antifa is kinda hard to define as it's currently in flux.

Bl4ckGryph0n Publish time 26-11-2019 02:54:39

It's not currently in flux. It's has very old and deep and militant roots. It's a direct action group that has been going for decades under many guises. The official main motive is admirable and will attract many to defend them. But they are no sweethearts. As per the picture above; at the extreme ends they meet.

SteakAndCake Publish time 26-11-2019 02:54:39

Yes, I understand the roots and design of Antifa. My comments about being in flux are due to the large numbers of liberals currently joining whose views historically did not mesh with Antifa.Their joining will change what Antifa is and how it conducts itself.

Jezza99 Publish time 26-11-2019 02:54:40

I'd like to think you were right about that, but i wouldn't be so optimistic. Antifa appear to be getting more violent and fascistic in nature, not less.

Oh, I absolutely agree. Of course it's not just extremists:

Charlottesville violence: Rabbis cancel Trump call over remarks - BBC News

That's another example of people being fooled by #antifa Fake News. Of course Trump condemned what happened in Charlottesville, his daughter and son-in-law are Orthodox Jews. Hard to believe he wouldn't condemn something that was directed at members of his family. When he said "many sides", condemnation of the alt-right was implicit in that. But Fake News and over-reaction by bleeding-heart liberals seems to have swayed the Rabbis' opinions. At least the Orthodox Jews weren't so easily fooled.
On a brighter note,we may be seeing the beginnings of a backlash against this PC Gone Mad world.

I saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it:

Ruth Davidson defends reinstatement of Tory councillors - BBC News

The brave Scottish Tories, like the brave Canadians above, taking a stand.

It the same old same old under a newish name. It will attract a lot of moderate people as let's face it the headline is very good. I mean why wouldn't any sane human being be against facism. Until they realise what it actually is they do and how they do it and how they go about it.

They are more fascist than the fascists.
