I do boast about it because a weaker pound means it is cheaper to employ people in the UK at a time when we need jobs.

No he said he would give control to the BoE, who proposed the QE idea and Brown agreed.

Another 5 years of labour would be disastrous for the country. They've not a clue how to get out of this mess they've mostly got us in to. Promises, promises (remember 'no tax rises' or 'education, education, education'). All words, no action (and 178 tax rises to be precise). Every major event that's happened in this country in the last 13 years that required clear, concise government decisions has been completely ballsed up by this usless sham of a party. They're held to ransom by their paymasters (the unions) who are just starting to flex their muscles again. Take us back to the 1970's why don't you.
I'll not even start on the in-fighting, bickering, back stabbing, expenses cheating, sell-us-out-to-europe bunch of squabbling idiots who call themselves Labour MP's. I won't mention their absolute detestment of motorists either, treating us all like cash cows who have to cough up money like blood just to drive a car we've already been taxed 5 times on, only to pay the highest fuel tax levels in europe. For people who dont live in cities, public transport is often NOT AN OPTION we can even consider, so get over it.
Vote for change. Vote Conservative. (I feel better now!)

It's funny then that Brown was once quoted as saying "a weak currency is a sign of a weak Government".Was that another thing he was wrong about ?
For a country that is a net importer,a weak currency is not what we need. It's done wonders for the price of fuel hasn't it.

I could stand to be corrected but I don't believe Labour ever promised 'no tax rises', I think they promised no rises in the standard rate of income tax.

That's a good thing in my opinion. Reduce imports make more here

I think you'll find it was part of their 1997 manifesto, when his Tony-ness made all those wonderful promises that were never kept.
