So they were council flats? In one of the most expensive post codes in the country?

Yep. Doesn't matter how expensive an area is, there has to be a certain amount of social housing.
This Borough tends to house them in these tower blocks or estates, plenty of them in places like Dalgarno and World's End in the borough that are either council, charity or HA owned. It's the side of the borough that the Sloane rangers don't really mention.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but although the residents have been complaining for 4 years, that was 3 years before the cladding was put on. Unless you know otherwise I don't think their recent complaints involved the cladding either.

Hmm I could think of better uses for the tax money, I didn't know that thanks.
Personally I'd have torn down the ugly as hell towers years ago, built something better looking and posher, more modern.
I'm confused by the march through central London? Is it because they were immigrants? Muslims? Reason I ask is because more people have died in single airplane crashes and no one marched through city streets? May has already committed 5 million pounds, what do they want? Someone to blame where their is no one?
Hmm I guess is the dumb rear end politicians stirring it all up, along with the help of the media..

No, that's the cost per flat per month, according the news.

If only these rioters/protesters put as much effort into helping each other rather than raging against the machine.

He means there could be say 8 people (or more)in some flats each contributing to the £2000.

Says someone from their armchair. How easy for you to say that. You haven't lost half your family due to negligence.

Thanks.Got a link, I couldn't find one?
there are plenty of quotes along the lines of:"In a chilling blog post written just seven months before the tragedy, the Grenfell Action Group said “only a catastrophic event”, would make residents’ concerns over fire safety heard." Unfortunately there were lots of fire hazard issues of concern.
But none mention cladding?. A far as I can tell the nature of the cladding only came to light after the tragedy. If they had complained that flammable cladding was being used beforehand you'd think it would be easy to find a link.Happy to be proved wrong though. Or perhaps that should be unhappy data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
