Slipcase editions - Chrimble presents now - Me mum and me MIL buying one each. I will probably grab 3 and possibly 4 next month.
And let me tell you those books are massive. I could choke a badger with them and still have room to choke other furry animals afterwards.

Me mam has been asking me if there's anything I want her to buy me for Xmas this year, saw these last week while looking on Amazon so I got them ordered to put away for Christmas (I sound like a little kid now data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7).
Of course when they arrived I had to inspect them for damage, all nice and perfect, then my Mum carries them into the other room moaning that they are heavy and promptly drops them all, I wasn't best pleased. Her only comment 'well I did say that they were heavy' data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
£18 for slipcased hardcovers is great. Also got the first Wheel of Time book in the same format. Just annoying that I always find out about these editions way after the fact, too late for the first one now, they never print enough of the first book in a series whenever it gets reprinted.

A GAME OF THRONES ~ SPECIAL EDITION ~ GEORGE R R MARTIN ~ SLIPCASED HC | eBay
Can you tell me what they look like compared to the others? Does anyone know the size difference in height if any?
Edit: Just sent him a message asking for hte dimensions, as my copies are with the MIL, can I ask one of you for the height please?

If you haven't read all the books DO NOT even look at the article in this months SFX.
Worst spoilers i have seen in there for years, some on the first page and then massive spoiler in big fonts if you turn the page so even if you scan the page you will be on the floor.
If they don't get a **** load of complaints I'll buy Theydon the H/B slipcase for vol1 !

Just ordered my Christmas pressie to myself, books 4 and 5 in Slipcase editions.
Now a few of us have books 2-5, what are you doing about 1? Going to spend the £200, buy a (different coloured but aparently the same size) US version for around £50, wait and see if its reprinted?

I still can't decide, but I'd only pay £200 for a signed one.I'm seriously tempted, but I won't bother with the US one as I don't see the point - it looks completely different to the UK versions.Lovely editions though aren't they?

Yep, paid £200 for one of the missing David Gemmell Hardbacks, Vol 1 Omnibus, and I deliberated long and hard over that, was one of the last ones I needed, was plain signed (not to anyone specific) minty mint condition, and I was flush from a promotion that gave me extra Theydon money in my wages. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
