Halloween is really popular here this year for some reason - literally every shop is decked out data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7                                                                        https://www.avforums.com/attachments/img_3777-jpg.931460/

It was in Tokyo Last year, they really go for it.

Yeah plenty of options for me to have a look at, How long have you lived in Japan for then?

Been here just over a year and a half, but had travelled around most of Japan for 20years beforehand as a tourist.

Just suddenly occurred to me one day that it makes no difference where i work from, so might as well make it a bit more permanent!

Yeah Its an awesome country to visit and I could see myself living there.

Just been watching Joanna Lumley's travels through Japan that I have had recorded for a while - very interesting place - such diversity in the weather (Hokaido vs Okinawa) and amount of people in each district - 38M in Tokyo - Wow indeed!

Quite enjoyed that series , it's gone off my sky box now though and I don't fancy paying for a copy .....

The amount of people in Tokyo was the main reason I decided to move somewhere less crowded (the other reason is that Tokyo is a bit of a concrete jungle, and doesn't really reflect the rest of Japan).Gets a bit stressful after a while, especially if you have to travel in commuter time.

I've not seen the programme you mentioned, but if they showed people being forcibly squished into trains in the morning to get them all on, you'll know what I mean!

Yeah I think living in a massive city like that would be draining after a while.

If you're intending to spend that long in Hiroshima , you may want to consider a couple of nights actually on Miyajima, it means you get to see the place without the tourist hoards.
From what I remember, anything more than Tokyo-Hiroshima return made the JR rail pass a bargain (If you don't do this, then do research which rail passes are available in/out of country.
I may well return there next year as well.
