Hi there, he is a top man, he,s done my jetta and has made it such a nice car to drive, power from next to no revs and all the way to the red line and i,m getting up to 10 mpg more than before. You really should get him to do your VRS, would love to hear your opinion if and when you do. Oh and check out the 2.0 tdi Scirocco he did earlier this year...

Thats not just software tho to get that kind of power from a ROCCO tdi. Thats got a few grands worth of hardware mods as well.

Oh absolutely but my point is that a certain well known company said they couldn't get any more power out of that engine when actually one guy on his own working from his home in his spare time managed to produce this monster

Well on Friday I bit the bullet and had the car remapped, it initially made 160bhp 273ft-ld in standard form first thing in the morning when it was nice and cool, by dinner time we managed 192bhp with 330ft-lb of torque, Even though nathan said get over 200bhp with another map tweak I decided to leave it as it was, it was getting very hot on in the dyno room which didn’t help results but I also didn’t want to push it, so far I’m very happy with the results, it’s made it effortless to drive with more power at lower revs.

Very tempted to remap mine.....

Fingers crossed for your clutch...

I don’t drive like a mad or launch it, I’ve had comments about the clutch but I’ve also seen comments from other people that are 80,000 miles into a remap with no clutch issues, suppose it depends how you treat your car.

I had an Alfa Romeo 159 JTDM remapped from 210 bhp to 270 bhp and 400 lb-ft of torque; it was still on it's original clutch and flywheel when I sold it 7 years later with 112k miles on it. Avoid flooring it in low gear and at low revs and chances are it will be fine.

I had my passat remapped in 2009. Still going strong now with another 110k miles on it

I personally think a remap is worth every penny if done properly and on the right car. I remapped my old 320d mainly for fuel economy (which made a noticeable improvement) and never looked back. Obviously performance is the main reason why people remap their cars but I was happy with the car the way it was before the remap as I had a 1.4 litre golf previously data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 so more power for me was a bonus although I never really pushed it hard often
