yep i use the cable adjust nut under the hand break handle

Saw a couple of you tube videos on it.

It was needing around 10-12 clicks to engage and going right to the top .

I adjusted it and it now only needs around 6-7 with it grabbing at around 4-5.

I noticed this was a problem when parking on a friends steep driveway. I put the hand break on pulling like i would have on my old car (muscle memory i suppose being used to the old one ) and i slid back down the drive, once adjusted it hasn't done it since although it is a little stiffer than before.

Made sure it wasn't adjusted to the point where it causes drag on the wheels so thought it was OK.

Could this be a problem then ?

Never trust a handbrake.Always park in gear, that way you won't roll anywhere after you park.

It's remembering to take it out of gear that's the problem with that! Lol

It becomes a habit.Just like pushing the clutch down when you start the engine.

Most modern cars which now have keyless go require you to press the clutch in before they start.

Yep, shouldn't adjust the handbrake by the cable without sorting the rear brakes first.

GalacticaActual Publish time 24-11-2019 23:14:39

How would I do that??

Should you also be able to pull away with out stalling with the hand break on?
