And many more...it was a rather odd thing to say from Loz imo...

Heck yesterday on AVF Street Walkabout - London | AVForums

@Dancook 35mm/f1.4 was the same size as my M43 body and 70-200/f2.8 (equivalent lens, the Panny 35-100) attached...Or when I held my 35-100/f2.8 next to @johnaalex Nikon 70-200VR (A magnificent lens I used to have once), the m43 version is about the length of the tripod collar

Sure there are huge lenses...I really want the 42.5mm f1.2 from Panasonic, but one thing stopping me is its size. It is huge compared to the tiny 45mm f1.8 from Olympus...

But hey the OP has chosen if I am not mistaken...Which is great...Enjoy and be happy with it!

What was "a rather odd thing to say"?

That mirrorless telephoto lenses are not much different in size to DSLR telephoto lenses?

Of course, DSLR manufacturers are not in the habit of trying deliberately to make small lenses.

But when they do, they can do small too. (look at the lenses, not the bodies)

Compact Camera Meter

But I am not trying to defend DSLRs. Far from it.  I got rid of mine because it was too large too.
I am happier with mirrorless because it is more convenient to take with you.
My next camera may well be an Olympus if Canon don't come out with a better M series soon.

Are all CSC zoom lenses power zooms or can you get some that are good old fashioned manual zoom? Looking on youtube it appears that whilst the zoom lenses have a zoom ring on the lens it is still operated electronically. I had this on my bridge and did not find it as accurate, or as quick as manual zoom.

I don't have a single power zoom

There are pro's and cons....If you like zooming during video it could be handy. Some good reports regarding the Oly 12-50 for that....But I don't like those kind of shots.

All my lenses are manual zoom...

I assume by manual, you mean the 'twisting' of the barrel on the lens? If so, then yes, they're manual on the two kit lenses I have - I wouldn't have thought that button-press zooming (if that's what you meant) would be that doable!

Thanks. Are the really small ones (ie pancakes) powered, or can can you get manual ones of those too?

Yes and no. The powered ones still have the zoom ring on the barrel (ie you twist the barrel) but then actual action is still electronic. As I said I had this on my bridge (along with the little switch around the shutter button) but I didn't find it 'that' accurate or quick. Eg, it could zoom more than you were anticipating and then when you zoomed it back it would go too far the other way
