Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Announced (2017)

Having never owned the S2 I can't compare. To be honest 90% of the tablet usage is for media. Mainly movies and the odd game. I can't say I've monitored the usage from a full charge. Maybe Tony can help more.

I recently had to use mine non stop for 10 days while my phone was being repaired.

No complaints on the battery, its a really decent tablet. I was even able to install WhatsApp while my phone was away.

Bizarrely the official Samsung keyboard case blocks the camera so you cant take pics, a really silly oversight.

Tablets don't excite me like they used to, but I do still really like this.

I got my case from cex, I think I paid 35 instead of about 100. Not sure the official ones are really worth it.

I bought an Tab S3 recently to replace my amazing Tab s 10.5 which was taking ages to charge and hence on its way out.

The Tab S3 is snappier and lighter but, I have to say, I do miss the aspect angle of the Tab S for watching films. Other than that - not much to add. Screen is just as good for blacks etc. The S-Pen is hardly used and, unlike the Note range, it has nowhere to sit in the tablet which is a pain. I had to buy a case with a pen holder which is hardly pretty.

Still, battery like and fast charge is nice.

First day with the new tab and loving it. Quick transfer of everything across and the difference in performance is amazing. Battery life is at least twice of the old 10.5 and even no issue with the new aspect ratio for videos. Can't see me needing to upgrade again for a few years.

Quick question, I often turn the wifi on when I wont be using it for a few days to save the battery. When I turn it back on it goes crazy for a few minutes with notifications being received - but they are notifications I have already received and dealt with via my phone - is there any way to prevent this?

Worst case I can turn notifications off as I dont need them on my tablet as much as I would on my phone, but ideally they could just work in real time and not pull up the last few days notifications the moment it gets online.

No idea, I just turned all notifications off on mine.

In my experience it depends on the app concerned. So for example Gmail won't repeat notifications if the email concerned has been read and dealt with, if I just clear the notification but leave the email unread it will still flash up a notification on a different device when it connects.

I think ill just turn them off, its not overly important to me and generally when im on my tablet I like to not be disturbed.
