I've had it for a while and had to turn the motion detection alert off.  The road is ten feet away from my front door and every time a large vehicle passes it goes off. Battery lasts maybe one month which is frustrating. And annoyingly it doesn't motion detect the postman!!
It's great for answering the doorbell though

I'm really tempted to order one of the ring pro doorbells myself but on looking at it in a little confused, did yours come with the pro power kit for UK installations that they show on their site that looks like this

Or the original pro power kit that looks like this?

If it was the second one did you just bypass your original doorbell chime and send 8v to it and does it work properly?

I really like mine and haven't had any problems setting it up. I just hate the motion sensor trigger! Sometimes, it drives me nuts! Especially at nights!

Hi mate I just set up the pro version and all up and running using a 12v transformer on its own, no doorbell. I contacted Ring about not have having the pro power cable and they advised me to connect as per the pic attached

Hi Batfinkus,

As I prerecorded mine back is march they sent out both things but I agree it is a little confusing.
Bal is right the pro power kit is only for US use, I ended up picking up a 18 - 24 transformer from eBay and I used the pro power kit wire with the connectors pic "Dropbox - Photo 23-07-2016, 09 49 36.png". I originally used a 12v transformer but the bell kept losing power.

The ring pro has much better and more reliable Wifi signal but I think the original ones 720p camera is better then the pro's 1080p one.

one more thing to add for the original or the pro please use loads of silicone all around the edges to make it water proof as i have had water damage two of them.

Touchwood the 12v transformer I'm using has been working fine with no dropouts. One thing driving me mad is I can't get any sound either to or from the bell on my Samsung Note 4....but it works fine on the wife's Note 4. Will prob a complete reset on my phone and see if that sorts it. Also work fine on my tablets both apple and Android.

Good luck.. Just added a chime to mine and still all working well... The motion masking works really well with no false alarms other than when the camera switches between day and night modes.

I seem to have followed the same path as others on here - very impressed with the original Ring Doorbell and picked up a Doorbell Pro while in the states. Getting it to work is a little tricky though as it needs more power. So far I have wired it to the existing Friedland Chime which has an 8v transformer built in - this works fine (no doorbell ring but got a chime for this) however I need to reboot it each day by turning off and on the lighting circuit at the fuse box. Bit of a pain so need to find a better solution.

I didn't have the red cable in my Doorbell Pro (perhaps down to the fact I purchased in the States) but Ring kindly sent me one. Tried to wire this in but, so far, can't get it to work with the Friedland - will spend some more time on this as I am probably not connecting it correctly. Can I ask though which transformers are you all using? I was a little reluctant to use one as mine will be wall mounted as opposed to near the fuse box so I want to disguise it. Should be Ok with this (will try to use the Doorbell plastic case) I want to make sure I get the right transformer. 12v should be fine and think this fits better with UK regs - don't want too much power going off to the doorbell!

In use the Doorbell Pro is superb - brilliant video quality.
