Maybe it is something that will change when the Echo is released here. I do wonder about the Amazon.com references in the app. The ordering by voice bit in the app also refers to Amazon.com. Does that mean that, if you place an order now, it will be ordered from the US site?

I am sure lots of stuff will change between now and launch, I tried to connect my Spotify free account and I got told that my Fire TV doesn't support that. Also saw a reference in there app to tell Alexa what I want to do with my Fire TV.

Hopefully the app will be good and of use, becoming a recurring thing now in smart devices where decent hardware is being let down by a poor app.

I'm hoping that once the echo is out it'll be that good I shouldn't have to use the app much apart from initial setup

Further to my thread in Music Streamers, you may know that Amazon will be releasing their ECHO in the UK from 28th September 2016. As I already had one imported from the USA, I thought I would let you know that I have now deregistered my "USA app" and downloaded the new "UK app". I have then successfully "rebooted" my ECHO so I have full UK functionality. That is apart from a link to SPOTIFY as you need an Amazon Prime account to achieve this (a bit naughty I feel, as I have to pay for SPOTIFY in any case...).

I have an Amazon Prime account and a paid sub to Spotify  but I still can't link my accounts together.

That's a little sneaky, also slightly annoying, shouldn't really have to have prime for spotify to work.

You might as well wait for Google Home if music is your priority
