I bought a Philips Hue Starter kit last week, a bit on the pricey side but I will say this, they just work. No connectivity issues, my phone connects really fast to the bridge even when of my WiFi. And there is a nice little widget for different modes.

Only issue is that I have my mum staying with me at the moment so she keeps manual flicking the light switches will be much easier when I get my echo.

I also have my Harmony Elite configured to control them which is really cool.

Lol I would do that as well but expecting a 60 year old women to use her phone to switch on the lights is a bit much. Right? Was toying with the idea of the sticking the Philips switches on the wall but they are pretty expensive.

No need for phone, I have installed the dimmer switches above the blanked-off normal switches.

At £20 each, I think they are a bargain!!!

This was before I blanked off the switches. Not the prettiest, but it's only stuck on so will pretty it up when a better solution presents itself.

This seems to be a duplicate thread, look just above for one that has lots of things being discussed.

Any UK users ordered one? I have been looking at the skills and not many are UK based.

What skills do you think are must have? I want to know about Premier League scores.

Have Philips Hue Lights and Harmony Hub for TV remote. Do you have this working?

Found this but many if not all are USA based for news, sport etc.  Don't think Dominos works here either

Is there an online list of Echo Skills? • /r/amazonecho

I hope so!

Great that people can make their own.  Had a little look at the code, there are some good youtube videos on how to do it.   Sure some smart people will make us some very useful skills.

For a laugh I am looking forward to trying simon says
