A few mates and I - usually around 6-8 of us - get together roughly every other month, at someone's house. Usually, we each take a different bottle and just share them around. Usually a couple of us take along one or more of the guide books - Michael Jackson, etc for some hints, but it's really an excuse to catch up, drink whisky and listen to some blues music, as we also all happen to be fans.....

I noticed the Haig Club in Tesco and then saw the ad - clearly a large chunk of the cost is going to pay Mr. Beckham's fee.......

Funnily enough, I did a Gin Club version of this with a few friends.  One of the group moved away and we haven't done one for a while...  Think I'll arrange another one..

I'm think that the problem will be that Michael Jackson will only recommend something under 12 years old?

I got a bottle of Talisker Storm when it was on offer recently; can't say I was impressed really, I found it a bit.. well, violent and unrefined I guess. It's not the peat (I really like Caol Ila for example), it's just not right for my taste buds.
I picked up a bottle of Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or a while ago - wouldn't say it's spectacular, but it's a nice, gentle dram.
I could go on for a while here, better stop and not get carried away.

I've got a nice bottle of Edradour cask-strength that I picked up on a distillery tour stashed away - opened, but kept for special occasions.  Just killed a bottle of the Talisker Dark Storm (slight variant from the usual Storm) which I enjoyed, but nothing else in just now - that'll change over the next week or so.

Have you opened that Glenfarclas 40y-o??????

If not, can I come round when you do??????

Their 10-y-o is exquisite, so Gold only knows what that's like!!
