So do we take this as Labour conceding defeat already and only trying to compete with the Lib Dems for 2nd place?
I can't really interpret it any other way, we'll have had nearly 12months of 'hard brexit or no brexit' warnings coming from the EU by the time the election comes around, what on earth are they thinking?
It would scrap Theresa May's Brexit plan - outlined in a White Paper in February - which envisages leaving the single market and customs union.
Instead, it will focus on delivering a deal which "retains the benefits" of single market and customs union membership.
On immigration, a Labour government would on its first day in office guarantee the legal status of the three million EU nationals living in the UK to correct what it says is a "shameful injustice".
If Hull West (amongst at least a dozen or so others in the North/North East) doesn't now go to the Conservatives it will be going to UKIP instead. The day after UKIP announce that they won't be fighting anybody in Brexit constituencies, Labour effectively announce they're gonna fight the Lib Dems in Remain constituencies?
Weird. |
