The hospital released a statement which was partially based on a deliberate falsehood, add to the fact the parents did not want the child to suffer the well known consequences of treatment by radiotherapy, they choose a different therapy which was not offered to them... The hospital can only obtain parental rights thru the use of a court order, which reports seem to suggest wasn't appropriate in this case..

That's just conjecture.

I could point out all the stories of parental neglect, refusing to allow treatment of their own children, physical and sexual abuse etc.

What would everyone be saying if the parents removed the child from the hospital, the doctors didn't bother to alert anyone and the child died a few hours later in the back of their car ?

I suspect the same outcry but this time blaming the doctors and authorities for doing nothing.

I'm saying doctors are humans, giving them and hospitals the powers they blatantly abused here I don't think they should have them at their finger tips, they work for us.

In England, the child abduction law states a parent can be charged with the common law offence of kidnapping. This is a complicated Act but does state: "In cases where abduction is feared and there is evidence to support that fear, the court may make a prohibited steps order to restrain either or both parents, from taking the child abroad."

It also comes under the "Child Abduction Act 1984" Section 1:
"It is an offence for a person connected with a child under the age of sixteen to take or send the child out of the United Kingdom without the appropriate consent."

Oh dear. Suggest that you stay clear of hospitals and those horrible doctors with years of training and experience and rely on the internet to cure or fix any medical problems you and your family have.

Exactly it’s no win situation, me and my dog would know what the reaction would be if the child had died in transit, from over reaction to lazy public sector workers who don’t care. It’s an easy finger wag for the Free Libertarian Movement.

But this child wasn't in danger of physical and sexual abuse, it could be argued the use of treatment that causes permanent brain damage and other severe disabilities and then death is akin to state sponsored abuse.
The child will have travelled many miles with his parents and they will also have been very skilled in administering his food and using the equipment given to them...

But that is about taking the child out of the UK.

Not about taking a child out of hospital without signing the correct form.

Perhaps a better question would be "what was the offence the warrant was issued for?" If we knew, then you'd have your answer Squiffy.
