I would imagine so. And you've got automation and all manner of other things.

Must be those new gender nurses, they have 4 hands and identify as a quad-nurse.

They can sup one cup of t and eat 3 Jaffa cakes at once.

And don't forget the "advantages" of such a large organisation with their superior buying power

NHS Style toilet role - anyone who used it its like sandpaper to my pampered bottom...
expenditure on toilet rolls - a Freedom of Information request to Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board

Or Waitrose cashmere quilted toilet rolls? Cheaper and still nice is available, but hey my arse deserves the best it can get
https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/waitrose-cashmere-quilted-toilet-rolls/059699-428538-30110

So £0.45 for the NHS per 100 sheets, versus 28.8p for Waitrose me buying a single pack as a consumer...

Just imagine the kind of savings to be had. On average 2-3 wipes, and each wipe using 4.3 sheets source: Page Not Found is £0.16p for every 8 number 2's....Now imagine if they didn't go to Waitrose for their Cashmere range, but went to Aldi for their 3-ply toilet paper...The savings will be huge...

Plenty of scope for efficiency, productivity and all mater of things....I'd happily become Vice President of Personal hygiene...I'll do the job purely on performance related pay....I happily take home just 10% of the savings made across the NHS...

A nurse with four hands could actually be quite useful using the example of toilet paper above.

Far more complicated, as the Government found out to its cost when it considered very loudly getting home owners personally responsible for their older infirm care by getting it's voters to part with owned homes as payment, never herd holws for tax to fund the financial burden of social care to be applied so quickly, the nation became instant wealth sharing socialists, truly amazing turn around.

If you have a task that requires a fixed amount of time and one nurse (can't be done in anything less for patient safety, protocol etc) how will you increase productivity?

I've made no comments on if it's enough. Clearly there are large numbers of vacancies.

I'm simply addressing the accusation that we don't have enough due to people leaving over salary.

They aren't leaving, we employ more than ever.

An employer that didn't offer enough to attract workers would have a decreasing workforce, not an increasing one.
