It's how they did it is the problem,  you really think they can go on borrowing like they've done with no repercussions ?   You only have to see what's going on in Greece right now to realise that Brown's style of economic management will lead to disaster.   The only reason that disaster is not upon us just yet is because of our credit rating (which right now is based more on our history than economic sense) and because we printed 200 billion quid to keep us going.

But you carry on believing what Brown tells you if it keeps you smiling.

I didn't vote Labour, I do not support Labour.

I just thought it was an obvious counter-point to your unbalanced post.

Printing 200billion was Mervin King's idea, the bloke in control of the BoE. Under the tories manifesto all banking decisions will be made by the BoE, so it ain't going to make a difference.

Really,  I think you'll find that for the BoE to be able to perform QE,  the government had to pass policy to allow it, something that for some strange reason didn't make it to the home page of the BBC news website.   Of course as usual with Labour,  the standard response is to try to blame someone else for their own mess.

Irrespective of that, the fact that he felt that this was the only option to save us speaks volumes of Browns economic wizardry.

Exactly, under proposed laws by Conservatives. They'll be able to do it without the governments approval.

Either way it was the right idea. The pound is stronger than now than before QE measures

Got a link to that ?  I don't recall seeing anything like that in their manifesto.

It was the only option,  there was nothing left to avoid a deflationary spiral.   The pound has lost 25% of its value since 2007 against most currencies,  hardly anything to boast about.   Even today, it's lost nearly 4 cents on the dollar.

So is anyone starting to think that it was a bad move voting for the party that they have ?

I'm going to head out at 9.30pm and give my vote, the catch is i will vote for the party of a member that can give me the best reason why i shuold vote for the party you have voted for , you never know one more vote may swing it

Was not going to vote but if someone feels strong enough that their party will deliver then i'll whack on the shoes and jump in the car

I don't keep links to exact parts of the manifesto, but it was repeated at least twice by Cameron in the Election debates too.

Well I watched all the debates and never at any point did Cameron say the BoE could print money whenever they feel like it.  I think your hearing what you want to hear.
