This is the whole problem though with basing your politics on history. Most people in life who've been around long enough have good decades and bad decades. I don't recall the 90's being a problem personally, but then I kept my job and it was a bit to early for me with regards buying a home. Have house prices not gone through the roof under labour then, more worrying I think they've got to a point now where there's no chance of them coming down again either. 15% interest rates on a mortgage was bad times I agree, would have been fine under labour though. We'd probably all still be stuck renting not owning our own. |
