To me keeping the 4 freedoms indivisible seems a reasonable approach for the EU to take.
It is the same approach that the EU took with Switzerland after they had their own refurendum on controlling immigration while trying to keep the other 3 freedoms. (Given the similarities between the referendum in Switzerland and the UK I am surprised that what happened for Switzerland wasn't more widely reported during our refurendum campaign.)
Splitting the 4 freedoms for the UK would create significant issues for the integrity of the EU. That should be a bigger concern to the EU as a whole than negotiating a favourable trade deal with the UK.
Should not this thread be defunct ? It's bollocks at best , may as well ask " if Labour promised not to sell off gold reserves for magic beans would you vote for them ? " Tis a null and void .
The problem with sitting on such a lofty pedestal is that, more often than not, your view of others is completely distorted from looking through your own behind.
I appreciate your usual contribution though, genuinely, unintentionally, hilarious.
