probably moot since Tom Watson and Rupert Murdoch are already arch-enemies

Well I'm pleased that Corbyn has created a Shadow Minister for Mental Health.
Doubt the Tories will follow suit as the Telegraph has called McDonnell a nutjob.

Corbyn isn't playing the usual media game, so it's leading to certain parts of the media losing their minds over it. I get the feeling he might just cut through the media's attempts to define and put his case to the public directly. Only time will tell if the public rejects him or not.

I vote Conservative - my wife mainly votes Labour but last election voted Green Party as she wasn't a fan of Ed Miliband (Just didn't think he was a strong enough leader).

She likes Corbyn - based on what she currently knows couldn't bring herself to vote for him.. Mainly as his views are just far to left wing.

I think that's what most of the electorate are going to make of him.. What makes him popular is his willingness to stand by those left wing views but those views are also the very thing that'll stop him from being voted into power. The moment he starts (If he even does) to draw closer to the middle to rectify that, the press will slaughter him.

This is of course assuming everything today stays relatively the same (Weak to middling economies bouncing along at slow growth)... If global economy / euro drop into recession again i can see him being a serious contender.

The EU vote will likely define the 2020 election. If Corbyn moderates his views then he might persuade people to vote for him. At least the run up to 2020 will be more interesting than last time around.

This is the best bit - the media is frothing at the mouth it's incredible to see them do their work. They are in full on attack mode. Corbyn really needs to set them off with a staged "bacon sandwich" moment.

If he wants to stay ahead then he will need to assume the leadership mantle, ie pick up all the strings of the various factions and deliberate and negotiate with them all to be assured of their support. In other words, Jeremy will need to spread the word of his willingness to listen and moderate.

The run up to the next election will be interesting!!

He is their Leader, not a Dictator, so he will have to moderate his views to fit in with the Party he is heading up.  As you say, interesting times ahead.
