His place as leader of the opposition and even a possible future PM has been on the cards for, I don't know, months? He's never given it any thought?

There's two battalions of troops right now training Iraqi troops to fight Dasesh. Does he agree with that? Do you? Before that we sent troops abroad to train locals in how to deal with Ebola. Are you in favour of that? Is he? We promised the Ukraine it could safely rid itself of its nukes and the UK, France and the US, China would look after it if it did.

We deployed troops to Afghanistan as part of a UN/Nato mission. We are a permanent member of the UN security council and an important member of Nato. So if we aren't deploying troops are we still going to be in the UN and Nato?

No more UN missions like we did in the Balkans? No more Sierra Leone's which was a text book example as to how to stabilise a country.

Senior party figures such as Lord Mandelson and David Blunkett are among those who have warned the party risks becoming unelectable without action to temper the new leader's radical left-wing mandate.

And moderate Labour MPs have held "informal" talks about challenging Mr Corbyn when Parliament returns next week by organising a vote of no confidence,

Etc.

Why exactly should Labour get behind him? Corbyn never seemed to get behind Labour.

He should have what he feels is the best cabinet he can and that he can work with. Blair senior women MP's were overall a disaster and embarrassment to the competence of British politics as they were most likely assigned by quota rather than ability.
