On BBC News this morning:

BBC News - Eight men charged with child sexual exploitation

8 more arrested this morning, seems to be 6 Pakistani, 1 possible Afro-Carribean (although I will have to search for which exact community he comes from) and 1 honorary Sikh......

What's an honorary Sikh?  I imagine he won't be for much longer whatever it is!

Good to see some action, non in Rotherham though.  News had video of public council meeting yesterday, with pertinent questions like, why are you all still sitting here, why haven't you all resigned.

Am surprised it's not exploded in Leicester where there's no doubt it goes on. Leicester's been notorious for child prostitution for at least a couple of decades, and from the occasional trial it's pretty clear that organised rings of muslim men are aggressively grooming young girls. They recently appear to be targeting Sikh girls, exploiting traditionalist reluctance of such families to report it.

Honorary as tongue in cheek because out of ordinary compared with rest of cases.

The police need to deal with all of them as a top priority, as these people have believed for far too long  that they are outside the law.

Nazir Afzal: ‘There is no religious basis for the abuse in Rotherham’ | Society | The Guardian

His assessment is correct imo, although the majority of comments don't agree.  If you start on the basis that of the actual crime and work back, you will have a more accurate picture of whats gone on, however, if you start on the basis of their so called religion (although I don't know what religion has got to do with this; since when has drinking alcohol, smoking, non-marital sex, rape considered norm in any religion), race of the attackers and then work everything around that, then your conclusion will be tainted.

He's not wrong about there being no religious basis, it's more about their cultural misogyny in such ghettos, and those "night time economy" workers are bound to include many of dubious character ... probably best to see it as gangs from the same community.

He's a good prosecutor but I disagree with him about it being incompetence rather than the stuff exposed in the Jay report.

The issue here is almost entirely cultural but that culture that undoubtedly has its basis on an interpretation of Islam where women and non believers are considered to be worth less, once you start from that premise you can forgive yourself for whatever actions you commit against that group.
Christiasnity, Jewism, Hinduism and most other religions have gotten more secular as time goes on, culture is not strongly or strictly bound to religion or its texts, with the exception of a few hard core nutters.

For Islam seemingly culture for many is religion, it informs how people should live.  It appears to be currently going through a period of increased ferventness and a rejection of secularism, but maybe this was always such and there are now people listening.

As I've said before we've produced a environment of total tolerance, and allowed wicket people from some of the most intolerant areas of the world to gang together and form a sub community that revel in that freedom for their own despicable ends.  The wider ghettoised community again for cultural reasons doesn't deal with it, and the damning mass failing of total tolerance those outside that community who's job is to do so don't engage the issue.

We will see arrests of those criminals that have attacked white girls first as they will hopefully feel empowered to speak to provide evidence for prosecution, and in the near future and the aftermath find that it is happening the community itself where religion and race don't come into it just the possession and inferior status of women allowing the wicket to justify and cover up their actions, due to a 'culture of honour'.  For women victims the crime continues where their families pressure them to cover it up, or ostracise them if they go to the police or even kill them in some instances to protect their so called family honour.

If that is not a stark cultural difference I don't know what is, and they simply aren't compatible with liberal western life or equality of the sexes.

Marked funny as your agenda is showing. I mean, what does {Nazir Afzal, the Crown Prosecution Service’s lead on child sexual abuse and violence against women and girls} know anyway?
