One simple example: the way the lords were named or born into their lifetime roles and not elected (until not very long ago).

If we have to have a discussion on the technicalities of the representative democracy we live in and its history while we have history books and google then we are doing something wrong.

So they are appointed?

When did we vote on who our EU commissioner is?

About the same time we voted for our PM. The process is similar, i.e. not voted on directly by the people.

Then please link to an example. On either point.

The polls largely point to a Remain win.

For the last few days before the vote, it was 14 polls, with only 3 for leave.

What time frame would you prefer?

For Remain.

What are you on about? Again? Did you even look at your own link, what?
Reality. How about you? I'm honestly fascinated as to what point you are making.
Are you posting all this as some kind of joke? What?

Some are there from inheritance, but then you are even admitting it's reformed. If they can, why not the EU?

And that's aside from "whataboutery." Just because the House of Lords exists doesn't mean the EU isn't undemocratic.

How about both should be reformed?
Given how you don't even seem to be able to get correct information from Google perhaps we need it.

Just as we didn't vote for any of the EU presidents.

So what is it the EU can teach us about democracy?

Can I vote for those who propose laws in the EU? Can I do that in the UK?

Yes, you vote for MEPs in Europe and MPs in the UK (and AMs or MSPs in Wales or Scotland).
