Offcourse there are other factors but none of them can be reliably identified in a forum.

I pointed out the Forum is biased towards Leave, you want to argue about it.

Not sure what your point is. Even if it was biased towards Remain the fact is that you are making a simple observation based on a sample that is not random and not representative. Can't gain any useful information.

Just seen a sneak preview of the script Conservatives have been given to use on the doorstep...

"You know that organisation you voted to leave three years ago, and then trusted us in a general election to implement the result? Well, I'm here to canvass your vote to become an MEP within it for the next five years..."

I dont think many candidates will be knocking on doors from any of the parties -  politicians are not very popular at the moment

I had the Conservatives knocking on the door recently asking for my vote in the local elections on 2nd May. The Conservatives run the local council and I have no complaints with them on the whole.

I have voted for them on the whole for 20 years since I was eligible to vote, and was a member at one point, but cannot vote for them anymore due to their continued betrayal of the Brexit vote.

I understand these issues are not the fault of the local councillors, but just cannot bear putting a cross next to a box with a Conservative logo next to it.

Possibly. Personally I consider the local elections rather a waste of time, though may vote as it takes me less than a minute to get to the polling station. Where I am we have parish, then borough, then county council. I think the borough council could easily be done without.

However I feel differently about the European elections. I will definitely vote in these to register my protest.

I'll wait and see, but as things stand I'll be using my vote as a definite protest. I can't see which candidates / parties are standing in my area? Anyone have a link?

I might even consider standing if none of them support leaving. I expect to lose any deposit, but if it costs the big parties support it will be worth it.

Quite a few councils areas only have a single candidate this time out. Tories are expected to do well out of it.
