Yes,Logicpro,by far my favourite DAW.

aaahhhh,the acid squelch.....its a synth,well emulator,called ABL2(audiorealism bassline2).,a step sequencer,using basic saw and square soundwaves,twisted with the ADSL effects.
I like playing about with rebirth on the ipad, and have got technobox app on the ipad, and iphone, which is 2 ABL with an 808 and 909 drum machine.(i mean soft synth, not a real one,an au synth)
Very cool app to fiddle about with, but quite hard to put a structure of song together,or,maybe i havent had the attention.
The 303 squelch just hypnotizes me,and find lots of different tunes coming out of one simple sequence.
I use it alot in all my tunes(well i hope they can be called that!!!),
I quite like the 303 acid noise, and like listnening, when in the dancey mood to techno,.
Cheers Bill, means alot...what you got in the pipeline?

So this ABL2 is available to download? How much is it?
and can it be used with LogicPro9?
I'm still learning all this tech and I must admit it's sometimes a little baffling!

I'm working on a few new tunes that I will post once finished.

All the best.

Just looked at their site and it around £129 to buy as a download!!!

Yes,you can get ABL,i forget how much it is,not much, but it has(apparntly)one of the best acid noises out there, aside from the original 303.Its the first time ive tried to do a full on acid techno tune, without anyother pads,or atmospherics going on.,just head on 303 squelch, its still a bit rough on the edges, but i think the jist is there!!(i hope so anyway)

Yes,can go in Logic,no problem,easy to install.
Its pretty much, just an acid noise synth,i cant really do much else, but if thats what is required, its lovely, put a bit of delay on to get it skipping round, give the cutoff and resonance a twist, pure squelch!!!
Ive been listening to the past 2 tunes i attempted in the car,and there is so much more room for improvement.
Ive only been using logic for aprox 6-7 mnths?,and is the easist(sort of) DAW,more intuitive than some others.
I wish i could get paid to try and make music.........

Ain't that the truth.
Will probably invest in this kit around march, when I should be getting my Co bonus.

Thanks.

You reckon Logic is better than Cubase 6?

I've used cubase for years, and know my way round it pretty well now.
Never tried Logic though.

Cubase is about 4 times more expensive!!.

If I'm honest, I'd prefer not have to use the security dongle in my USB port, so I'm tempted to try Logic as it doesn't use an iLok.

I used to use Cubase Artic around 9 years ago and I find Logic to be easier to use. In saying that I only used Cubase for around 6 months so I didn't get so in-depth with its feature/functions. Also I had endless problems with Cubase occasionally not working or crashing but that might have been partly due to my inexperience and rather slow old pc I was running it on.
Is it worth investing in a download of LogicPro?
Possibly but it's very similar I find to garageband but obviously with tons more functionality.
I guess you already have a mac? If so try using garageband first even if only to get an idea of how it works.

Good luck.

Well I don't like GarageBand... I guess I'm just used to the Cubase way of doing things.
If Logic is GarageBand on steroids then I think I'll stick with Cubase.

I certainly don't find Cubase lacking... The current version is stable on my Mac in 64 bit.  I'd literally be switching to remove the need of an iLok.

Steinberg should scrap the dongle idea, it's a pain!   Waves have started doing cloud based protection... They should at least look in to that.

For recording work Logic is fantastic but you can't beat Cubase for midi work. I haven't used it since 3 but I miss the midi workflow

Oh and Alan you have some crazy good synths if you have Logic Pro. I don't have them myself but check out some tutorials online.
