Don't tell anyone, but I was very late to George Martins books, having read the first two to date, and only in the last six months or so.
As for signed first editions, yes, I think they are worth more, and most eBay transactions seem to agree.
Hardback firsts also always increase in value anyway - although special editions that come out far later than the original I doubt do as well, but I have nothing to back this up as I don't recall any of my authors having a book released later as a hardback.
Ooo, tell a lie, Waylander by David Gemmell 25th anniversary edition, sadly in French and released in France and I found out too late to try and find one. |
