It also depends on how you buy your car so if you buy the car on a PCP deal then at the moment a Diesel potentially makes more sense when you give it back after the period. I have never had much equity (if any) in cars at the end of a PCP
BMW on new 320s are giving 3k on new petrols (£31,250 M Sport Saloon, 10k residual on 10k miles), Monthly price no deposit £416 for 4 years
Diesel (£33,920 £10.6k residual on 10k miles) works at £406.
So £480 of the period cheaper, plus the fuel economy will save you money
I had looked at this first when BMW were only giving 1k on petrol so it was working out at more like £60 a month or nearly a 3k saving which was a lot more significant. |
