Nope. They rang last night to tell us it was ready for collection.

The Mrs rang the insurance company today and explained our concern about the tyres. She said that the garage had checked them and "They looked fine, no bald spots" but we are concerned about uneven wear and tear (there may not be 'bald spots' on them at the moment, but what about 6 - 12 months time?)

The insurance company agreed and have arranged for an independent assessor to make an inspection, and to have a look at the suspension as well. As they said, both the suspension and the tyres have not been designed to travel sideways. This has added another week to the proceedings.

Can't ask for more than that to be fair.

I cant help thinking, if you were the foreigner you'd be pursuing a £60k claim for whiplash, etc.

Well, we have been to pick the car up. I refused it. Please excuse the lack of correct item names:

Rear nearside wheel arch - looks all crimped, almost to the point of looking corrugated. Guy said it was a seal that "hadn't gone on correctly".
Rear nearside passenger door - black 'hockey puck' type plug is not clipping into the hole for it (either an issue with the bodywork or the 'old' plug).
Front offside bumper - new bumper has a dent in it, exactly where the old bumper did. Hmm...

Crappy quality control / snagging. Aside from that the paint job is nice.

Sorry, I didn't take any. The weather made taking them impossible. I'm amazed we spotted what we did under the circumstances.
