Inaccurate Interesting and thats it

Salem is an interesting perspective on an old story where witches are actual servants of the devil and they truly do plague Salem. But i'm afraid thats where i lost interest. There are obviously many historical inaccuracies which is usually a red flag for me but this is not meant to have any historical representation more as if this were a different world where history plays differently, So i accepted that and continued to watch but then i began to see where this show was going and realized that it was terrible. You cant create a mystery out of something that salem saw as a mystery and then modern society uncovered to just be a theological greed fest and expect people to get behind it. We've already preconceived (and rightly for once) these people to be close-minded, ignorant and unaware of the world. Furthermore no one wants this story to be a mystery. This is already a story about the faults of human conscious.
