I watch a lot of horror and am no prude and really really wanted to like this show.
Sadly the fact is it just takes too many liberties with good taste and a truly terrible period in American history. The effects are good and the acting is so-so but the overall plotting of the show and justification it gives to some historical atrocities is just too much for me to hand-wave for the sake of entertainment.
The position that the show seems to want to take that the witch hunters were awful (but, after all, RIGHT) undermines their portrayal of the awful.
