Except that Luxembourg, being so rich as you pointed out, obviously don't need such a fiscal transfer anymore

What has Luxembourg to do with anything?

Singapore is prosperous, low crime, has excellent schools, excellent health services...  People who say we don't want to be like Singapore never seem to say why.

As for a lot of Tory MPs have an admiration for Singapore. So what? There is a lot to admire. But even so, no party is suggesting we move to a model like Singapore.

And if it comes to it, I bet a lot of people would admire Singapore if they knew more about it. It certainly isn't just a Tory thing.
