Because the EU was pursuing its "ever closer union" dream so millions started voting for an anti-EU party.

And at least one of the “something else” would rather leave with a good deal, but happy to leave without rather than a bad deal.
So which have you counted me in?

My understanding of referendums, is to gauge public appetite for something. Switzerland which is a direct democracy and uses them frequently has overturned a few public votes now including one to limit freedom of movement with other EU members for the same reasons that Brexit will cause. This decision, rather than harming their democracy, resulting in increased participation afterwards.

Don’t be silly, don’t you know by now we all voted because of immigration, as we’re all racist and just hate foreigners.

I think you may have found a flaw with the poll?
We probably also need to understand people’s ages, because we know a higher portion of over 50s voted leave than under 30s for example, that is if the poll is supposed to represent this country as a whole if that’s the idea?

Then why say “this is your decision”?
Then have a general election in which the parties promising to abide by the referendum result got by far the most seats.
Why not say we just want to know what you all think, then we’ll just carry on as we are?

And public appetite is for us to leave the EU.

According to my poll calculations:
Based on 112 votes from forum members.
Leave 53%
Remain 47%
If No Deal was pulled from the table => 49.1% to 50.9% in favour of Remain.
If May's Deal was pulled from the table => 52.7% to 47.3% in favour of Leave.
If Revoke was pulled from the table => 51.8% to 48.2% in favour of Deal.
