I havent bothered. I always hate the feel of screen protectors that miht not matter to much with this watch as you very rarely need to touch the screen.

Really liking mine. Took it out for first proper run yesterday using the level active headphones i got with it. Very happy nice and easy to scroll between stats when running. Get prompts to speed up/slow down depending on your settings in s health. The 1km prompts is the only let down it seemed tolower music volume but notenoughso could actuallyhear what was being said.

The great battery life didnt seem effected by it either really. I was only out 25 mins though. But thats enough for 5km and all i ever really intend to do each day anyway.

Hope you enjoy yours.

Right Some quick thoughts, as only had it a since yesterday afternoon.

Fist thing is the bezel feels cheap when I'm turning it, I can hear a faint metal ping when turning the bezel. Not sure if they all like this or if I've got a dud, but at £349 I was expecting better build quality.

Thought there be more apps out since this is the third version, there's not even a compass.

Can't find a way to put on a single app when choosing a widget, can add four or delete three.
But doing it this way doesn't make them full screen, very annoying.

4GB of space is very stingy as well, as about 2.5 is used up by the software.

I'm guessing if your planning to use this with wireless headphones in the gym, the lack of storage for music is going to be a pain.

The positives are the screen is great quality and the sound from the in built speaker sounds clear.

Need more time before I make up my mind, as not sure if I want to keep it at the moment.

So I've been debating getting one of these for a while now. I've was put off by the price and size of this and picked up the s2 instead.I've has the s2 for a few days and like it but really think I should I should have just bit the bullet and got the s3.The s2 actually looks quite small on my wrist and the battery life while decent could be better.I also think the always on displays are poor.I also like the idea of the GPS on the s3.

So has anyone here upgraded from the s2 to s3? Is it worth it and what are the main pluses of doing so.Also how does the GPS work? (there seems to be some confusion on here). I am assuming the watch uses your phone GPS unless you are out of range and the watch GPS will kick in.Also are there any other features on the s3 that justify the difference in price between it and the s2?

Cheers

Hi,

I think the main reason you pay more than s2 is bigger screen, bigger battery and gps.

Yeah from my experience thats exactly how the gps works.

Well after owning the gear s2 (which I liked) I saw an s3 frontier back in stock and went for it. All I can say is I am so happy with that decision. The frontier is a beautiful watch. The screen is not that much bigger than the s2 but makes a big different (especially when out running). It's been great to leave my phone behind when running and I love that there is a speaker on the watch. This is a definite improvement on what the s2 was.The always on displays look great and the battery is a beast. At the moment I have had the watch on for 18hrs and the battery has dropped just 20% and that is with the display always on.

I have tried android wear and hated it.Android wear just doesnt work because swiping everywhere for navigation doesn't work. Also battery life was awful (on moto 360 2). Until now my favourite smartwatch has been my beloved pebble time steel but this is definitely a worthy replacement. The bezel and button shortcuts make navigation on the gear s3 easy. It's a pricey smartwatch but we'll worth the money for something I will wear every day

Oh and I should also say alot of reviews that bemoaned the size put me off getting the watch. While I don't think this is a watch designed with women in mind the watch is really not that big.It feels comfortable to wear and doesn't look overly big at all.The s2 felt a bit small to me but this feels just right.Tech reviewers must have very small wrists!

Amazon have the Frontier showing as in stock for delivery Thursday.

I preordered and just had the delivery notification email for tomorrow - I know places like MobileFun had issues getting hold of more stock for these and prices seemed to shoot up before Christmas.
