Thanks mate but I've decided I'll just use what I have and update from here, it's doing the November update now build 10586 which I believe is TH2 the latest update
I did mange to get there but when it came to the partitions etc. The screen was so small I couldn't read what was what. It was tiny

Does the dock come with an additional power adaptor? Also have you tried it with an external display yet, if so does it function well?
I have had issues where my screen flickers to a different shade of white while browsing on the internet & have had the speaker pop occasionally, even without sound currently playing.
How do you set up Windows Hello? Also did you have any issues with Cortana? mine wouldn't work out of the box and required a bit of fiddling with language packs.
I may do this, but this is exactly the reason i moved over to Apple about 6-7 years ago, I'm too old to be bothering with this these days!
I left mine in standby for most of the day yesterday & it used up about 20% of the battery, also when I turned it on the display driver crashed and locked the damn thing up! I will investigate the battery usage a bit more over the next few days.

I also have had the popping sound from the speakers.
I left the house this morning with battery at 33% so will be interesting to see what it's like when I get home around 5ish.
Impressions are i love the form factor. Not sure of it as a tablet replacement though. Seems very big and takes a while to wake from sleep.

Yes waking from sleep surprised me yesterday, took several minutes, although that was with the display driver crashing too. its been asleep ever since so I think I will get it out at the office shortly and compare experience!
I'm tempted by the dock and using it as my exclusive computer, ie to replace the PC in my office and at the same time use it for meetings. It will save all the aggro of syncing info between devices that's for sure!

I have had no issues with waking from sleep. It is very fast for me. And most of the time I use my SP4 docked with an external screen. But at night, weekends and of course when travelling it is a laptop/tablet.

I think I just need to get out of my head it is not an iPad but simple things irk me but I am sure there is another way, like for instance I was cooking and thought i'll listen to spotify like I do with my iPad but through better speakers, screen went off & so did the music!I'm sure I could change the power settings but that would be at the huge expense of battery life, I wish it could be a bit of an iPad and a full blown PC as and when required...

Ive also just looked for Windows Hello in the sign in options under settings & I cannot find a reference to it. I'm going to install the drivers as mentioned above and see if this helps.
Also my battery is now down to 29% so going to sleep is not a good idea as the battery still gets drawn quite a lot in this mode.
