That's not a breakthrough, that's an after thought. And if it sticks 20 quid on the price of the Vive I'd rather go without.

Actually I quite like it as a feature, but you're right - it's an afterthought.

I have no need for it. I've found that removing the HMD would have much the same effect, just in slightly better quality.

I'm ordering a Rift.

Suppose it would make checking the Elite trading calculator or sending a text message from VR much easier.

Furnace Inferno Publish time 2-12-2019 05:36:39

Definitely not a breakthrough, in fact it's something I and probably many others talked about over a year ago when people talked about having to take off the headset to find things.

It'll be the least developed aspect too. A rush job. How much extra processor power and grunt will it require, from a PC that'll already be pushed to its limit. What will you have to switch off in order to switch this one?

PS would be useful to find buttons on my stering wheel which I currently struggle to do. But switching off the 'visor' display in order to see it would probably cause me a problem or two.

Also... you need two FF&S!!! Its gonna look awkward seeing a 2d view that isn't centred on you pupils.

I really think it's a great idea, as was the main thing that was putting me off VR.

Synchro Publish time 2-12-2019 05:36:41

I was hating the fact that I wouldn't be able to see my desk in front of me and type on my keyboard, without removing my headset!!
