A headset with multiple lenses put together which basically eliminates the blurriness you get from putting something close to your face.
Definitley something we need but we also need more FOV, deeper blacks, (can micro led do this?), better audio and wireless functionality.

They dumped the motorized actuator in favour of multi stacked LCDs.

Thanks. Similar to index then? Hopefully keeps the half Dome 1 FOV

No. I mean the index doesn't do that at all. This is multiple lenses stacked upon eachother. The Index is just two weirdly positioned lenses to increase FOV.

Abrash is a truly inspiring chap. A great talk with realistic expectations.
Over all I think Oculus and Facebook are making the most effort to get people into VR. They are clearly invested more than most, but then again they are clearly in this for the long run. If they are getting a steady stream of new users I guess a lot of those will flow into other VR eco systems and keep feeding users in. Its looking a bit better all round.

Yes, its far off in the distance.
I actually dont like this artificial blurring its completely unnecessary in VR. When Abrash shows an object blurr as it gets close up this never happens in VR.

Makes sense I mean the idea was cool but surely expensive and massive potential point of failure.
