There's a software update just been released but it only seems to be related to the DVB side of the TV. I installed it but don't use the tuner so cannot comment on any changes.

Just watched Empire Strikes Back and I'm amazed at the difference in picture quality versus my old Xelos. Colour is a real strong point on this set with skin tones looking so natural.

I've also recently read that testing is underway for bringing Hbb TV to the UK so we may yet see what this service offers.

Hi cmck you never did let me know how you got on regarding the sound did you notice any improvement??

CMcK Publish time 1-12-2019 22:08:21

Yes. The problem was the TiVo box was set to output Dolby Digital switching it to stereo has made a huge difference.
I switched off the loudness and auto speech detection settings. I felt the loudness settings adds too much on the top end.

Okay, i found for music and movies having those features on improved the sound in speech and the bass with music but everyone's taste is different.

Im glad that you managed to find what was causing the sound issues that you were having though.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Dear all, i hope you has a good Xmas.
I have finally made a choice of what to replace my Loewe Concept 32. It went down to a Connect 46 and a Sony 46 HX853 (the sound on 3 different sets all sounded very poor). Everything built into the Loewe plus the free BluTech player finally tipped it.
I will be receiving it early Jan.
I intend to wall mount on a swivel/tilt that can be pushed close to the wall, just above my equipment stand.
There are many options out there, i really want one that compliments the tv. It will be seen at some angles.
The vesa is H400 x w350 ?.This makes it a little more difficult for some mounts.
Has anyone had any problems wall mounting one or can recommend one.Loewes Flexi is an eye watering £475!!.
Thanks for any help.
Also glad of the configuring tips on here.

Hi all.

I am new to this forum, and I have read every post in this thread.

I am very much interested in buying a new 55" tv and I am looking ar either the Loewe 55" connect id or the samsung ue55es8000.

There is a current Loewe offer: the TV for about £2500 and a free Loewe 3d bluray player.

But then again, the samsung is £1600 - £1700, and I can buy a good 3d bluray player for £150.

I am not interested in the TV's speakers, as I have already purchased the Loewe 7.1 surround sound projector.

Is it really worth paying the extra for the Loewe? is it that much better?

I am struggling to find a good video demonstrating the features of the Loewe, especially it's smart tv features.

A bit of info would be very much appreciated.

Thank you!

EDIT: also, what would the advantages of the Loewe tv be over the samsung one, except maybe picture quality.

Build quality, pride of purchase, user interface and the fact that not many people have them.

b0gd4n Publish time 1-12-2019 22:08:22

Ok, not that interested about what other people have, it is just what I have data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Could you direct me to some UI pics or video demos...can't seem to find any.

Also what cool features does it have in comparison to the samsung smart tvs?

Thanks for the quick response!

Fair dos but for me it was, i didn't use mine for the smart tv functions so can't help you there.

But if you go on to Loewes site there will be more info on the overview part of this tv. Scroll down and you will see the media portal segment which is the smart tv functions on this tv.

Well you may or may no is that you can buy it with the optional 500gig hardrive that alone sets it apart from other tvs.

Hey,

I went to Loewe in Harrods, and asked the guy there to show me some of its features, and I was not that blown away to be honest.

One thing I saw was that the display is only 200hz, compared to samsung's 800..

Does it have apps like samsung ones? What about internet browsing? DLNA?

What about the picture quality...is it really much better than samsungs?

What does Loewe have that other TVs don't? And again, appart from sound quality and the actual quality of the TV.

I am really not interested in the internal HDD, as I stream content from my computer most of the time.

I really want to find something that will pursuade me into buying it.

I do like he looks of it, but I do not want to buy it just for it's looks and the fact that it is Loewe..I want to be convinced that it actually is better than the other one.

Thanks!
