Perfect timing finding this thread as I've been looking at a smart heating control for a few weeks and was set to get the Netatmo until I saw the Curry's price of this. That and the wife preferred the look of this one

I'm hoping it's just a simple swap of the existing thermostat which by rights it should be as it's a combo boiler. I assume that once you've swapped you need to set the existing timer to 'always on' for the heating.

Yes it's very easy to install and it literally takes you through every step of the process. It is a very minimalist device.

Tado is quite good but it's way behind Nest and Ecobee3

I was very torn between the two, in what way would say the nest is so much better then? I'm sure I'm within my return period of need be.

I think you're right. Whilst checking display is useful during troubleshooting. Longer term, your body is the sensor. The actual temperature is subjective. Just because the display reads 19 degrees, doesn't mean you feel warm. If you're cold / warm, adjust the temperature to suit. Just because the technology exists, it should not dictate comfort. It's a measurement. Nothing more.

Is it? I feel each has their merits and choice boils down to use case. For example, a close friend who lives alone, nest works for him in a small home where frequent proximity to the stat means Nest works best. My parents who where only 1 has smart phone, the Hive ticks most boxes. For me, the Tado ticked most boxes as more autonomous than Hive, fits in better. I love the look of Nest but love the discreetness of Tado. Can't speak for ecobee as not used but I'm sure it's brilliant (for a specific use case). Not sure about the "way behind" remark - it's a room stat at the end of the day.

Minor update : the fire icon is now only present when the boiler is fired up, and it does disappear when it's not fired up! This evening the house got to temp and it stayed off for about 2 hours. That never use to happen as I always had the dial turned too high I guess.

I ordered from their website a Thermostat and a Rad Valve back in November.Still waiting for order confirmation.

Terrible experience so far but im sticking with it, ive heard very good things about the product and the bonus is that you can rent it works fine for me in a rental property.

just hope it arrives soon, winter will be over once it comes no doubt

I have noticed their customer support has been very slow recently. They have been very busy but not sure why. I'm still waiting for them to give me a price for a second thermostat and an update on the V3 internet bridge with HomeKit support.
