How much do you spend on food and household goods per week per person?
I've just been going through all my credit card transactions since Feb 2012 and just totted up all the M&S, Tesco and Sainsbury totals.I was surprised at how much it worked out per person.I accounted for the fact that for Feb to July last year there was two of us, and since then 3 of us (apart from Christmas which I looked at separately as well). And the figures were pretty much the same per person whether it was 2 or 3.
I calculated that on average we spend £55 per person per week.
How much does everyone else £spend pppw? Our average weekly shopping bill is about £50, I do however often have to pick up a few extra bits in the week which amounts to around £20-25 so that's £75 a week or about £25 per person Easily 50 to 60 odd (which i assume is a lot), but then snack cupboards and fridge are always very stocked, generally a lot of decent meat in the freezer as well. I dont think i'd want to spend less tbh if it meant giving anything up Two of us and we probably spend £80 a week. We allow £100 per week for 2 adults and 3 children. I then spend £20 per week on lunches when I'm not at home. Average of £89 a week including wine over the last year but we do grow some of our own fruit and veg ie pots and strawberries apples lettuce and all herbs and chilli's which last the year. So around £22 per head a week. I'd say about £50 per person per week.
Cheers,
Nigel In that period I'd say there was at least two people in at lunch per day (I often work at home, and SWMBO is home based too). As Nigel said, based on 2 adults so £400/month 1 on the working from home
