That is an amazing time, you must be well chuffed.

absolutely delighted, training wasn't all i would have hoped for all year, new job, 3x the commute meant this was my weakest years training from the last 3 to 4. i'm over the moon

copenhagen is an amazing race, the crowd on the run is just incredible, not just the numbers, but the whole run course is a big party, dj's and bands everywhere and the whole crowd going nuts. i've never seen anything like it, not even close

Sounds like one to put on the to do list for the future (maybe when kids have grown up so me and the wife can go and make a holiday of it together).

3 weeks out from IM Mallorca and I've just read something in the race guide which may be a huge problem

"Disc brakes are not permitted"

WTF? Have I gotta find a loan of a bike? Nothing was said at Staffs 70.3 - is this a new regulation?

mossym Publish time 26-11-2019 05:24:50

Probably following on from UCI regulations. Probably isn't any way around it. If you have disc brakes you won't be able to use your bike. A number of people got dq'd in France last week for breaking a rule against wearing two swim suits (only applies in France ) so they will issue dq'd. Not sure id risk it

p9ul Publish time 26-11-2019 05:24:51

It's just one line in the athlete guide, there's no mention of them in the official rules document, only that each wheel must have s working brake

PSM1 Publish time 26-11-2019 05:24:51

I would check as I have heard else where that disc brakes are banned at that race too.
Had my last race before IMW today and it was one rough sea swim to start. Got it done and happy now can cope with anything Tenby chucks at me. Just hope my new wheel arrives in time and no issue with warranty claim.

I'd phone the organisers if I were you. They might have kneejerk banned them but then unbanned them without updating that document...

p9ul Publish time 26-11-2019 05:24:51

I've sent an email - will see what happens...

It's a headache I could do without at this stage...

BriD Publish time 26-11-2019 05:24:52

Hmmm. From a search I found this relating to IM Barcelona this year...

"Who were the governing body for the event? If any of it falls under the Spanish cycling federation then they'll be banned."
