5 weeks to go and a big weekend of training just done. Went to Tenby yesterday (only a 50min drive) and did the full course with some friends with a 20min run off the bike too. Then today was 3x10k hilly loops with negative splits. Legs are feeling it now!!!!
So far this year I have swam 278k, biked 3,950k (48.5k elevation gain) and ran 1000k (12k elevation gain). Impressed with the amount of swimming I have managed to rack up but the other figures are all looking good too.

you've racked up some impressive training stats there. Sounds like you're on course to smash this Ironman. Keep it up.

Hi, I'm doing the ironman as a total novice (only ever done sprint distances) but am travelling to Tenby this Saturday to do the first lap of the bike as I come from flat lands so need the hill practice. If you or anyone else is interested in joining me let me know as some company would be much appreciated?!

Would have loved too but away this weekend racing myself. There will most likely be a good few groups out on the course each day so may be able to tag onto one of them. They will at least point you in the right direction if you get lost. Take care going down into Freshwater before Angledue to sand on the road. Also some of the roads are fairly narrow with some nasty corners so take care. Ok on race day as closed roads but can be a little sketchy with cars.

Thanks for the tips, I'll see if I can tag along and avoid the cars!
Good luck at the weekend.

Done and dusted. First IM was amazing, loved every minute, even when I was in complete agony, which was a lot data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 happy out to finish in 10h43, ran the marathon and only walked the aid stations, spent 10 minutes in a portaloo so room for improvement there too. Next time data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
