The best bacon sandwich I ever made required specific leftovers, namely a small pork loin that I had the night before or to be more precise ;the crackling. Remember, bacon's flavour comes from the fat, and the crackling acts as a crisp rind flavour boost.
White bread (thick)
Butter
Bacon of choice.
Finely chop the crackling and sprinkle into the sandwich.
Enjoy!

This is very true in my experience too as it is an intoxicating aroma.
Poll results are very telling as well, I doubt we'd ever find anything else that so large a majority of people agree on at once so thanks to all that have participated thus far.

A bacon sarnie is the food of the gods !! , and if anyone happens to be around Whitby then get some from the butchers near the swingbridge , smoked in the kipper house nearby , it is the best bacon you will ever taste !!!

My sister went veggie for a few years when we were kids living at home. It was one Sunday morning and mother had a load of smoked rashers going under the grill, heavy buttered some cheap white bread. Brought the tray in the room then she cracked and had to have one, no more veggie.
Not even veggies can resist the smell, even to this day I think that even the most devote vegetarians have a cheeky bacon sarnie in secret!

Hate the bloody stuff, suppurating white goo comes out of it and it never tastes like it used to.
That's why I source pork joints, dry cure them and smoke them myself data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Hehehe that is the only thing against bacon....you don't need a bottle like that when you've cooked it....You'll smell of it anyway...
